It's an incredible and unique experience for fans of minimalist and avant-garde music, and if you aren't familiar with this world I would recommend listing to some of La Monte Young's work (the creator of this space) ahead of time. The sonic frequencies will transport you to a deeply mediative and transformative space if you approach your visit from a place of growth and study. I took off a star as the carpet needs to be thoroughly cleaned, I woke up the next day covered in bites.
I traveled almost 12 hours to see this installation as I wanted to use it for my research, but unfortunately it wasn’t open and no one answered the phone that was provided on the entrance door’s label.
i waited for like 30 minutes in the shade of a land rover until the door guy returned to let us in. probably the best $10 i ever spent to be honest. im probably going to return here at least once every 20 years.
The Dream House is one of the few remaining legacies of New York loft culture. It's a monument to minimal music and art, created by pioneers of the scene. It may be small and the number of artworks few, but they are endlessly fascinating. The place is clean and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Truly a unique NYC experience. Came here with a friend not knowing much about what the hell this place is, found it (with some detective work) and got upstairs. There we were greeted by a friendly volunteer who answered some questions and we entered the dream house.
At first your bombarded with a blast of noise that shakes the walls. But then it begins to soothe you, to envelope you, and ultimately consume you.

A bit overpriced. Should be only $5 per group. The exhibit is somewhat interesting and thought provoking however Indian references are cultural appropriation without context. Not for children or pets.
Go there with an open-minded. A nice place to lay down and get away from the crowd and the noise from the street. May be a bit pricy for what it truly is (10$ for one room with lights and a soundtrack). Don't have high expectations.
I was expecting some kind of interactive or museum type of place, but I walked in to find 2 empty rooms that were poorly decorated with rundown vibes with nothing worthwhile to see. Sure, it’s a good place to rest if you are in the city, but there was a white noise playing in the background that was slightly too loud to be pleasant.
